A dedicated inclusive space to make play more accessible.

Once again this year, asmodee was present at the Cannes International Games Festival (FIJ) with a space entirely dedicated to accessibility and inclusive play.

Located in a calm, accessible area, also suitable for people with reduced mobility, this space gave all visitors the opportunity to discover Access+ games as well as other titles from the asmodee catalogue, specially adapted to be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their profile or abilities.

On Thursday and Friday, we were delighted to welcome several groups from medical and social care organizations and over the weekend, the space opened its doors to the general public. Visitors of all ages and profiles were invited to discover accessible games, share moments of play, and experience how a few adaptations can make a big difference.

For many, this was their first encounter with the concept of “inclusive gaming”. By trying out adapted games in a supportive environment, they saw firsthand that play can be accessible to everyone.

Beyond the FIJ: the “Festival Hors les murs”

Asmodee Access+ also took part in the Festival Hors les murs, a special program that organized gaming sessions in various institutions, allowing residents to experience the many benefits of play without having to travel to the festival.

In these “out-of-the-walls” sessions, we brought games directly to care homes, hospitals, and social establishments, adapting activities to the residents’ profiles and abilities. These moments, spent directly alongside our audiences, remind us how meaningful our actions are and how, day after day, they contribute to making games accessible to all.

Making inclusion a habit, not just an event

Our presence at the FIJ and in the “Hors les murs” programme is more than a one-off action: it reflects our ambition to make gaming accessible to everyone, everywhere. At home, at school, at festivals, in care and social institutions: every setting can become an inclusive gaming space.

A calm space, a thoughtful selection of games, trained facilitators, and partnerships with local institutions: these are practical steps that can be replicated in other festivals, libraries, game shops, and care settings.
