We share and broaden the power of play

Access+ started as a dedicated game range for players with cognitive disabilities. It now has evolved into something much bigger: a company-wide initiative to make accessibility a built-in feature in asmodee games and activities.

Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or have never rolled a die, whether you’re 8 or 88, whether you live with a disability or not – there is a seat at the table for you. We believe in a world where everyone can connect and grow through play.

About us

We make play more accessible

Game accessibility

A more accessible game is simply a better game for everyone. More intuitive. More comfortable. More inclusive. We are co-building science-based accessibility guidelines with researchers, accessibility experts and the asmodee studios. The goal? Embed built-in accessibility into our games while developing add-ons that boost play comfort and remove unnecessary barriers, whether they are motor, visual, auditive, cognitive or socio-cultural.

Inclusive play

A game is never just a box on a shelf. It truly comes alive the moment you play it. The laughter, the focus, the rush, the connection around the table. That immersive experience is what makes tabletop games so powerful: a unique blend of cognitive stimulation, social bonding and shared emotion. That’s why asmodee access+ goes beyond the game itself to shape the play experience around the player.

This means giving players, teachers, caregivers and communities the tools and confidence to harness the cognitive and social benefits of board games so everyone can enjoy and benefit from moments of play. This brings the impact of play far beyond the living room table, to classrooms and care facilities for example!

Aurélia BATLLE, Special educational needs teacher

Playing games creates a space to be free, independent and creative, which fosters a sense of fulfillment. Games act as a social driver, a cultural object and an educational and therapeutic support.

We build evidence and share our findings

If play is so much more than entertainment, it deserves more than assumptions, it deserves science. That’s why, to move beyond intuition, asmodee collaborates with universities, researchers and scientific experts to build robust, evidence-based knowledge proving the social, cognitive and educational value of tabletop games.

It all starts with Game in Lab, our dedicated research funding program. Each year, we support several academic research projects exploring how and why board games benefit players and society at large.

From there, we nurture and connect a growing network of researchers specializing in the social value of games, accessibility and learning. Through applied research, we feed scientific insights into the way asmodee develops and thinks about its games.

And because knowledge only matters when it’s shared, we bring these insights to you: through science communications, professional conferences and resources designed to make research findings accessible, inspiring and actionable.

Our ambition is to fuel the use of tabletop games in all their forms – at home, with family and friends, but also in classrooms, care centers and professional settings, all grounded in scientific evidence. We believe tabletop games can make a difference, and science supports that.
