A space for accessible play at the heart of the festival.

Asmodee Access+ was delighted to take part in this 40th edition of the FLIP – Festival Ludique International de Parthenay – with a booth dedicated to accessible play.

The festival offered an Accessibility Tent, a space designed to be accessible to as many people as possible. It was a natural fit for us to take part in it. It’s a truly positive sign to see a major festival like the FLIP taking accessibility seriously, with a dedicated space and many activities designed to be inclusive.

Giant Dobble challenge

Play, challenges, and the Access+ Woopie

Over the days, we welcomed many visitors to our booth, players of all ages. We had great fun running games, sharing tips on adaptations, and launching quick challenges with Dobble (Spot it), a fast-paced observation game that works perfectly in a busy festival setting.

To mark the occasion, we created our own Access+ Woopie – a custom version of the FLIP’s iconic collectible mascot, featuring elements from our visual identity. Like the other woopies, it was meant to be won through challenges and games, and quickly became an object of curiosity for festival-goers and a fun way to spread the word about accessible gaming.

Partners of the ÉducaFLIP awards

During the festival, Access+ was also proud to be a partner of the ÉducaFLIP awards, which highlight games with strong pedagogical potential for use in classrooms.

At Access+, we believe that play is a powerful learning tool. At school, it not only supports skill acquisition, but also fosters a positive and inclusive group dynamic. It is also an essential lever to ensure that all children can access play, when this access is still unequal, both in and outside school.

We were honoured to attend the prize ceremony and to congratulate this year’s winners: Bidibirdy, Dixit Kids, and Forest Spirit. Well done also to all the nominated games for the quality of their proposals, and to the jury for their commitment.

Continuing the work beyond the festival

Our presence at the FLIP confirmed that there is a strong appetite for accessible, inclusive gaming. The next step is to build on this momentum: sharing concrete resources, supporting game designers and organizers, and making accessibility a natural part of how we think about play, in festivals, schools, and everyday life.
